West London College has evolved over the years by combining the strengths of neighbouring colleges in West London. Our history spans over a century of delivering quality learning to the people of Hammersmith, Ealing, Fulham, Southall and Acton. We have always served our learners best by moving with the times, and now, with West London College Online offering nationally recognised quality distance learning courses, we are building on our success and helping even more learners, in London and across the UK, achieve their learning goals and fulfil their potential.
Online learning - studying off campus
Our online courses enable you to fit your learning around your life as our study materials can be viewed from any device connected to the internet. You may want to study on the move, or at home, so you can care for children, earn while you learn, upskill for promotion, or get your qualifications so you can go to Uni. We understand that life can be complicated and you need a college committed to supporting you. We take pride in providing all our learners with good support and timely personal feedback.
Online learning - benefits
- You are not constricted by set lesson times.
- The time and expense of commuting to lesson venues is all saved. That's time you could be studying or earning a living, or caring for people dependent on you.
- The control of your life and career is in your hands with online learning.
- Support available online through Personal Assessor, Student Support Officers and online learning community.
Personal Assessor support
Your personal assessor will be making sure that your work reached the necessary standard. You will be reminded to submit work by our Student Support Officers and by your Personal Assessor. When you have worked through the study materials, for each unit of study, you will be asked to submit a set assignment. Your Assessor will give you personal feedback that encourages you to address any areas of knowledge or skill that needs strengthening and, if necessary, will direct you to further study and additional resources.
There are online tools to help you schedule your work and hit your deadlines for submitting assignments. Also there are extra courses, that you can opt in to do, that strengthen your skillset. There is also a West London College Online learning community, so you can choose to make contact with our other learners, share insights and resources, and take a more active part if you choose to. You can send messages and contact your Assessor by email, or a Student Support Officer at any time if you have additional questions, we're here for you.
