Module Ten: Planning gym-based exercise (F/600/9018)

On completion of this module you will:

  • Understand how to collect client information to plan gym-based exercise
  • Understand how to use client information to plan gym-based exercise
  • Understand how to plan gym-based exercise with clients
  • Be able to collect and use client information to plan a gym-based exercise programme
  • Be able to plan a safe and effective gym-based exercise programme with clients

Requirements

To complete your Diploma in Personal Training and Fitness Instructing, you’ll need access to a gym. In addition, you will find it helpful if you already have experience of gym-based exercise, and it is important your own levels of physical fitness are adequate for the needs of the course.

However, even if you have no previous experience or qualifications in personal training or fitness instruction, because this course combines units from the Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing with the full Level 3 Personal Training qualification, you don’t have to complete the Level 2 before beginning the Level 3 course.

Assessment

Each lesson comes with its own question paper, which you will complete and submit to your assessor. In some cases, you’ll be asked for audio-visual evidence for some of the competency-based assignments.

Because the Diploma In Personal Training and Fitness Instructing continually assesses your progress in this way, your assessor will be able to monitor your progress and provide assistance when it is needed.

Each question paper will take you at least 1-2 hours to complete. The course as a whole is estimated to take around 346 hours to complete.
